Vierie Price-Young

Mrs. Vierie Price-Young of Tampa, FL passed away Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, April 21st, 2022, 12:00 p.m. at Progress Village Seventh Day Adventist Church, 7909 Flower Ave., Tampa, FL. with Pastor Byron Wells., officiating.

Vierie was born on October 12, 1939, to Henry and Geneva Price who preceded her in death. As a child, Vierie was raised in Fort Pierce FL where she met and married the love of her life Paul Young.  They were together for 62 years and were blessed with five children. She and her husband moved to Tampa FL in search of a better life.

Vierie completed her education in cosmetology and as a licensed practical nurse.  She was best known as a homemaker to her family which she loved dearly.

She was introduced to the Advent message by the late F.S. Keitts and was baptized into the truth in 1968 by Pastor Sloan at Mt. Calvary SDA Church where she found a church home.  Vierie settled into God’s precious word and never looked back to enter the darkness of the world she had left behind. She enjoyed her walk with God.  In his word she found a whole new way of life.  By his power she was committed to serve Him all the days of the life He had planned for her.  Favorite scriptures Ps. 90:12, Ps. 39:4, Gal 5:22-23.   

Vierie is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Charles Price, and Isadora Price-Rowe; and daughter Cynthia Dawn Young.

She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Young; four children, Pylander Young (Erin), I. Vicky Harvey (Percy), Lorraine Young and Alexis Young; grandchildren, Octavius Young, Calvin Young, Carlos Young, Jeremy Gordon, Reva Graham (Antwan), Samantha Edwards (Jermaine) and Jody Harvey; great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Flemming, John Price (Odessa), Texella Adams, Susan Washington (Bernard), Mary Lee Porter, Ceola (Candy) Strong Jordan, and Delores (Tiny) Strong Cook (William);  along with a host of family and friends.
