William Whetstone

Mr. William Roy Whetstone, Sr. of Tampa passed away Monday, April 12, 2021.  Private funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Mr. William Roy Whetstone, Sr. was a native of Eclectic, Alabama born to the parentage of the late Fletcher and Clady Whetstone. He received his education in the public schools of Elmore County.

Mr. Whetstone was a member of Brown's Memorial Church of God In Christ, here in Tampa, Florida and he worked as a Block Mason for 50 years.   Mr. Whetstone was a devoted and caring husband to his wife, Willie B. Whetstone, for over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Fletcher and Clady Whetstone; sister, Josie Wax; brothers, Clady Whetstone, and Lawrence Whetstone; daughter, Barbara Sampson; and grandson, Antonio Powell.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Willie B. Whetstone; his children, Jacci McCloud, William Roy Whetstone Jr., Terry Whetstone, Billy Whetstone, and Wanda Powell; sister, Annie Bell Williams; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins who he loved dearly and a host of other relatives and friends.
