Mr. Willie Butts of Tampa passed away, Wednesday, October 7, 2020. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, October 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida. Interment will follow. Please follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
Our Beloved, Willie Butts (Uncle Pete) was born in Jacksonville, Florida on September 13, 1947. He attended the Public Schools of Jacksonville, Florida and Graduated from East High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He served his Country faithfully in the United States Army and Retired from Republic Steel in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by: his parents: Willie Butts and Vera Staley Butts; and siblings: Herman Colbert, Solomon Butts and Rev. Dr. Linda C. Reese; and brothers-in-law: Rev. Robert E. Reese and William Charles.
He leaves to cherish his memory: sisters, Willie Mae Butts-Charles and Jacqueline Murray; brothers, William Butts, Kenneth Woods (Valarie) and Vernon Colbert; uncle, Milton Hannon (St. Johns, FL); nephews, Robert E. Reese II (Nicole), Michael Tyrone Reese (Shuran), Machael Cortez Reese (LaSaundra) and Donald Terry Harvey II, William Butts, Sir Kenneth Woods, Vernon Colbert II, Herman Colbert, Jermaine Colbert, and Grover Colbert; nieces, Deonne Johnson, Sherry Harvey, Stephanie Kane (Damon), Stacie Harvey, Camilla Colbert, Ashley Williams, Briana Woods, Dena Hardy, Ciera Williams (Brandon), Mariah Horace and Ariel Jenkins; devoted cousins, Elline Chisolm (Donald) of Gainesville, FL, Betty Harvey (Donald) of Cleveland, Ohio, Willie Bridges and Kevin Hannon; beloved extended family, Raymond Coyle, Keith White, Kerron Pride, Jamie Sunskis, Beverly Footman and Darlynn Pittman; special friends, Rev. Willie Mae Peterson, Ivalita Woods, Gwendolyn Butts, Carol Cooper, Rev. Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, from 3-7 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines. Masks are required.
