Mr. Willie J. Latson, Sr. of Tampa passed away Tuesday June 16, 2020 at Habana Health Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Olive A. M. E. Church, 1902 W. LaSalle Street, with Reverend Gregory Gay, Sr., Pastor, officiating. Please follow the CDC guidelines.
Mr. Willie J. Latson was a native of Tampa, Florida and resident of Hillsborough County for 60 years. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School, Class of 1960. Willie lived in Ocean City, Maryland and Denver, Colorado for several years prior to returning to his hometown in Tampa, Florida. Along with other trades, Willie especially enjoyed his career as a Bartender at Denver International Airport. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Jessie and Flossie Latson; sisters, Minnie P. Latson and Shirley Ross; and brother, Jessie D. Latson.
He leaves cherished and loving memories in the hearts of his loving family: his two sons, Cedric J. Latson and Willie J. Latson, Jr.; devoted sisters, LaVerne Latson, Rosalyn McGill, Sandra Norman, Deborah Lymon, Kelly Williams and Stephanie Carmichael; brother, Robbie Latson; aunt, Mary Latson; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends.
The remains will repose from 3-7pm, Friday, June 19, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to follow the CDC guidelines.
