Mrs. Yvonne Waters of Tampa passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020. Funeral services (FOR IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY) will be conducted Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 W. Cypress Street with Reverend Frank Watson, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines.
Mrs. Yvonne Waters, affectionately known as “Duck” and “Preacher” to her family was born the third child of Charlie and Bessie Jones. She was a native of New Port Richey, FL and a resident to Tampa for 66 years. Yvonne graduated from Middleton High School, Class of 1959. She was employed as a Food Service Cafeteria Assistant for the School District of Hillsborough County retiring from Bellamy Elementary School in 2001.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, David M. Waters, Jr.; her only daughter, Anquinette Waters-Coleman; grandson, Angel Waters; parents, Charlie and Bessie Jones; brothers, Clarence Jones and Charles E. Jones, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Antinori Waters and Sebastian Waters, Sr. both of Tampa, FL; grandsons, Sebastian Waters, Jr. (Chelsea), Houston, TX, and Austin Waters, Tampa, FL; granddaughters, Quinette Johnson, Atlanta, GA, Andeurha Waters, and Zamora Ellis-Waters, Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Ky’lee Waters, Arion Waters, Sebastian Waters, III, Zoe Waters, and Knowledge Waters; sisters, Marva Hardy (Edward) Bradenton, FL, and Joyce McNeal (Willie), Tampa, FL; brothers, Wilbur Jones (Betty), Tampa, FL, Thomas Jones (Ruby), Atlanta, GA and Anthione Jones, Tampa, FL; son-in-law, Willie Coleman; sister-in-law, Ethel Washington; special nephews, Jivaro, Tajar, Devin, Shawn and Rashida; special nieces, Kenya, April, Mandisa, Monica, Monica, Kimberly, Monoe, Marvette, and Christina; special cousin/brother, Malachi Jones (Deborah); special friends, Myrtle Lyons, Ann Moultry, and First Lady Diane Watson; her baby (Dog), Page “Pagie”; and a host of extended family and friends. Due to the current CDC restrictions, we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respects.
The visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. Friday, June 19 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.
