Zavion Williams Sr. Obituary

Zavion “Zay” Williams Sr. passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at The Center for Manifestation Church, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610, with Reverend Richard Mims, Officiating. Interment to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. NO PICTURES/NO VIDEOS. MASK RECOMMENDED.

Zay was born in Tampa, FL on June 3, 1993, to Zulema Williams and Bayata Battle. He attended Middleton High School. He was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Center under the leadership of Rev. Richard Mims, where he accepted God at an early age.

Zay was a devoted father, loving son, grandson, and an awesome big brother. He loved his mother and his “Bae Bae”. He enjoyed laughing, family time, eating, and traveling. He had just started to experience new adventures with his fiancée, Marchias “Shay” Williams.

Zay was preparing to start his own trucking company before his life was tragically taken. His desire was to take care of his family.

He was preceded in death by: his maternal great grandmother, Meloudis Williams; great aunt, Coletha Jenkins; cousin, Jabari Herndon; and best friend, Marlin “Nuk” Walker.

He leaves to cherish his precious and loving memories with: his mother, Zulema Williams; father, Bayata Battle; 2 sons, Zavion Williams Jr., and Zion Williams; daughter, Za’Nique Williams; 4 sisters, Zenavia Williams, Zenea Williams, Zaire Williams, and Breyata Battle; 3 brothers, Zuri Williams, Isaac Battle, and Isaiah Battle; niece, Emonii Battle; grandmothers, Debora “Bae-Bae” Brown, and Carroletha Clark; grandfathers, William Upshaw, and James Battle, Sr.; step grandfather, Genavies Brown, Sr.; aunts, Tekeria Webb (Rayburn), Terria Smith, Meloudis “LoLo” Brown, Lashawn Battle, and Sylvia Battle; uncles, Antonio Thomas Sr., Rashiid Williams, Genavies Brown Jr., Javon Battle, James Battle Jr., and Tabari Kinzey; 3 god-sisters, Celeste “Tiny” Shepard, Taynesha “Tae-Tae” Harris, and Malayia Filmore;  god-brother, Julius Holmes; god-aunt, Yulita “Scooter” Howard, and Franteria Hall; his true love and fiancé, Marchias “Shay” Williams; and a host of family and friends.

The visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.  NO PICTURES/NO VIDEOS. MASK RECOMMENDED.
